I recently visited Star Beauty at 8900 S. Lafayette, and I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received from the manager. When I approached her to clarify an error made by the store, she was not only disrespectful but also condescending. Instead of listening to my concerns, she repeatedly cut me off, dismissing my attempts to understand the situation. It felt as though I was being treated not as a valued paying customer but as someone beneath her, which is both unacceptable and disheartening. As someone deeply committed to community engagement, advocacy, and equity, I find this experience troubling. Every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of the situation. I hope that Star Beauty takes this feedback seriously and works towards

Just had the worst experience ever while purchasing items here. A young lady with a black face mask , a cap and a pony tail working the register ,was extremely rude to the fact that i almost didn’t complete my purchase. She asked me a question . Obviously i couldn’t hear her due to her mouth being covered. I asked her what was her question she became extremely frustrated , began breathing hard and repeated her question quickly asking did i want to purchase a bag . I proceed to say no she printed my receipt threw it away and proceeded to talk to a fellow co worker. I reported this to one of the managers a nice young lady by the name of Ava who throughly listened . However, This was totally unnecessary and gave me second guessing shopping here . This is literally my favorite beauty supply in Chicago! It’s like a huge candy store with the assortment of brands and options they have!!! I never send anybody anywhere else!!!!!

Review: I’ve had two very frustrating experiences at this store. The first time, they overcharged me, scanning extra items without my knowledge. I had to come back to get a refund. The second time, I came in for a simple exchange: same brand, same product, just a different color. The product was barely used because I had to test it to see if it matched my hair. Despite this, staff refused to exchange it, shook the bottle unnecessarily, and argued over a policy printed on the receipt. I literally left the product and receipt there because I didn’t need it. I just wanted the correct color. I can’t recommend shopping here. Transactions and customer service are inconsistent, and even basic requests can turn into unnecessary arguments. You’re better off going to Ulta, Target, or another beau
