Shea Locs Natural Hair Studio

I love my hair! Laila is a new hire, training this week but she did a awesome job! Ever since getting locs I've become tender headed but I must say this style feels really comfortable. The atmosphere in the shop is important to me and I really enjoyed seeing how helpful each stylist is with one another. I felt comfortable with Laila although she was new to the shop because the owner & lead stylist are thorough and knowledgable. the booking process was a little shaky only because the stylist I originally booked with was out sick and I was rescheduled(quickly and with as early notice as they could) but aside from that I would rate my first time at SheaLocs 9/10 I will be back. update 4/25/25 Laila doesn't work there anymore & follow me on socials @peytonthephotographer <3

I’ll give this place two star review not because of my stylist but because of the young lady that was standing next to her, she made me totally uncomfortable. She constantly kept going over my head saying negative things about how my hair is and if I had this type of hair, it wouldn’t be doing this And asking my stylist 1 million questions as if she didn’t know what she was doing because honestly, she did a wonderful job on my hair. She even expressed to me that she was new and I asked her. Why was the lady constantly nitpicking at her? I know the difference between a person that is supposed to be leading or training, but this lady was literally nitpicking at her as if she didn’t like her And I did not like that at all so I asked my stylist what was the young lady’s name and she said Can

The Shea Locs experience was very good and professional. I had the starter loc retwist. I started my locs myself, and they did my first retwist. Zhamir educated me on having healthy loc maintenance. She was very professional and patient. My locs looked better than expected. The first 2 photos are before pics, and the second 2 are after my Shea Locs experience.

The salon has a nice atmosphere but my hair is not good at all. It doesn’t look like it was even touched.. my parts are not clean the roots are loose. I came home and re-rolled my hair as the curls I paid for were nonexistent. Linda did not do a good job at all. I should’ve known after I waited 20 minutes after my appointment for her to come out the back.

I love coming to this location. The staff is always professional and make you feel right at home. My stylist, Mo, makes sure that I’m comfortable and that my needs are met. The vibe in here is always on point. Lovely atmosphere with great tunes! Ms. Renee always has the best conversation. So happy that I entrusted Shea Locs with my hair care needs.
