Monte was great at color but gave me the worst $80 haircut of my life.

not worthy of rating- but to get my point across i have to leave a star --in a small community, we love to help everyone strive and be the best, as a local you understand the hustle needed to survive in Taos. We used to go to the local barber/saloon and you were known by name, not even 30 years down the road we get business that don't even acknowledge you as a local. I am a believer of helping local, shopping local, spending local; for services that are shared through conversation and time spent in ones business. Giving our local vendors the opportunity to conduct business on a friendly level. Today in 2025, you have transplants from Rodeo Drive, or retirees from some rat raced cooperation that vacationed here in Taos and were treated with homely hospitality, decided to move back to Ta

Meera gave me the best hair cut of my life! She was incredibly conscious and thoughtful about how to cut it so it would grow out nicely. The salon was nice, clean, and relaxing. Definitely would recommend to anyone who would like a great hair cutting experience.

This is the first time since I left Denver that I have a terrific cut AND colour! Monte did a fabulous job mitigating the mess my last “stylist” left me with. The cut is way less flyaway (with seemingly a lot more volume, which isn’t so easy to do with my hair these days) and the color is orders of magnitude more complimentary to my skin tone. I love it! I’ve had more compliments these past few days on my hair than in the whole four years I’ve lived in Taos *combined.* I’d kind of despaired of finding anyone in Taos who could give me a hairstyle this good; now I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else.

Rachel is an absolute master of her craft. Tired of my old dull middle age hairstyle (or lack thereof) I landed at Shank with a few pics and general idea of what I wanted. Rachel listened, heard me, synthesized, and made an awesome mullet for me. Now my hubby won't stop singing me Joan Jett songs... Thank you Rachel!
