I visited this Sephora to buy some products during my birthday month. In previous years, Sephora employees let me choose my birthday gift, but at this location, the cashier simply grabbed a gift from under the register and handed it to me without asking. On their display, there were several birthday gifts available, but I wasn’t given a choice. The gift I received was a hair product, which I don’t use. It’s frustrating to see customer service at Sephora going downhill. Experiences like this make me question why I should continue shopping here.

The employee name Melissa (I guess it’s her fake name as no one in the store recognises her name) is very very rude. I asked the price after the discounted percentage and she gave a lot of attitude. She is saying that she has a lot of customers in the line and I couldn’t ask the price to her. Girl I also stand in that long queue to go to the register. You couldn’t give your attitude to your customer and show me your frustrated attitude. She should not be in the register if she is that much frustrated to serve any customer. Manager should be more careful whom they are putting in register. NEVER EVER GOING BACK TO THIS ASHBURN SEPHORA LOCATION ANYMORE.

I went in to sephora today to test out fragrances with a friend. The store was a little busy but I've seen it busier than that. I noticed not only was I never greeted, even with 3 associates standing at the door. I was being followed! Yasmin an employee literally instead of speaking followed me around the store. I must be a thief, clearly how she's moving. My friend is Caucasian and could see it as well. We went to leave. Yasmin got on her walkie proceeded to say something to her team while starring me down. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Muna at Sephora, and she was truly phenomenal. For years, I’ve struggled to find the right makeup match, and as a Black woman, it can be frustrating walking into beauty spaces where it feels like you’re not fully seen or represented in the products. But Muna changed all of that for me. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and kind. Her customer service was beyond amazing, she really took the time to listen, guide me, and make sure I left feeling confident and beautiful. For the first time this year, I finally found the perfect shade, and honestly, I felt overwhelmed with joy.
