Customer Reviews
I love this place. Im always 100% satisfied. Everytime. Im kinda picky too sometime
I write this review for the students. I was compelled to do this as one of my clients was considering barbering and asked about education. I had to be honest. I've been a licensed barber for 2 years now and I've been through 2 separate institutions (Including this one). I told him that 95% of what I can do is self taught. Any future barber reading this should realize that what you put into your craft is what you extract from it. Many schools hardly teach if they're staffed and if they're staffed there may be a degree of favoritism. This is not to deter anyone from barber schools. I am merely letting you know what to expect. Shadowing at barbershops for hours, cutting hair on the side for free and investing in online education is how I elevated my skills. Not through school.
Do not ever go here to get your hair done. The two women that work here are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL & the daughter is very unhappy and always talking about Black Communities but mistreat Black people. They will also mess up your hair and stalk you if you leave a bad review by coming to your job. I found somewhere else to get my hair done and it’s nice and nowhere near ghetto and trifling
Potential Students/Customers give them a try! Read below UPDATE: I returned yesterday 8/24/19 but was told in order to receive service I'd first need to comb out and wash my own hair (which is long & thick) bc their students were unable to do it. That's odd I thought to myself. I explained to the owner that I had been there before and was serviced with no issues. Actually one of THEIR STUDENTS washed and combed my hair and the instructor twisted it. I was told that instructor was no longer there. Ok. That's fine but this school has predominantly Afro Amer students I'm sure it would be no problem. Also if a Latina and an Asian STUDENT at another school (a month prior!) had no issues with my hair texture then surely Afro Amer students shouldn't smh lol. I left disappointed. I still believe
Haven't been to Sam Verly in a long time. Use to get my regular cut and shape up. Also had the stylist to do coloring in my hair. Have to stop in an see what's going on here. Always a good experience when I visited.
