After several bad experiences with my previous hairstylist, I went in search for someone new. I wasn't having much luck finding someone who was not only great, but consistent. After doing a random google search one day, I came across Laurie's website. Skeptical at first, something told me to give it a try. I am beyond happy that I did. 1st impression was amazing. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. It felt like I was talking to a friend that I hadn't seen in years. Laurie got me right for Mother's Day. My first appointment was for crochet braids, then I came back a few days later for an eyebrow tint. Flexible and easy to work with. I have already booked in advance. Worth the price and time. My service was a braidless sew-in and I must say she's one of the best I've ever had. She's very passionate about her job she knows hair very well. My hair looks extraordinary and I couldn't be more impressed she's very articulate , & professional but easy to talk to and I definitely will go back to her again & again .

First let me start by saying the location is fantastic! The shop is super chic and so relaxing. The environment is so peaceful and positive. My makeup service by SalonXVII was fabulous, from the dramatic eye to the soft lip. I feel so fabulous! Thank you SalonXVII for providing next level service! There is literally nothing but positives I can say about Laurie! She did my wedding including the entire bridal party 6 people hair and makeup by herself (all different hair types to match our varying ethnicities and skin tones), and everyone who encountered her remarked on how professional and kind she was and how amazing we all looked. From planning & booking, to delivery of services she was A++ and I will recommend to anyone in the KC metro area. Black women who need someone with knowledge on natural hair this is the place!
