Complaint / Review I visited this barbershop in West Harrison and asked if I could get a haircut. At first, the barber said yes. When I asked how much it would cost, he told me $45 for a regular haircut. I replied that it seemed a little expensive, but I was still willing to proceed. At that point, he asked me, “Where are you from?” I told him that I am from West Harrison. Immediately after that exchange, his attitude changed. Although the shop was completely empty, he told me there was no availability for me—not today, not this week, and not even in the coming month. This was after he had already told me he was available. It was obvious that my comment about the price and the fact that I spoke Spanish influenced his refusal to serve me. This conduct is discriminatory. Under the New Yor

Mr Robert. The barber you are referring to has been serving our community for over 30 years with one of the most diverse clientele’s. He has been a pillar in our community and the one person everyone can rely on for not only an amazing haircut but a person that will always be there for you. He has been a mentor to so many, helping people change their lives being a man that serves God, and opens his arms to anyone he comes in contact with. There is not a racist bone in his body. He is also a very busy barber, always booked.$45 is a fair price nowadays. I know barbers out here that are charging $80-$100 a cut. This is Westchester where the cost of living is so high, so $45 to me is more than fair especially when you take in consideration the location of the Salon. He is appointment based on

Mr. Robert, I want to sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding regarding my comment. I was in the salon when you walked in and asked for a haircut. When you spoke to the barber in Spanish and he replied in English, I said, “he only looks Spanish.” What I meant was that, although the barber was born in Puerto Rico, he never learned Spanish. I was born and raised in Cuba and was getting my hair done at the time you entered. Please understand that my comment was directed toward the barber, not toward you, and it was never meant to be discriminatory. On the contrary, I was making a lighthearted remark about the fact that the barber doesn’t speak Spanish despite his background. Angel has been cutting my hair for over 10 years now. I've had long hair to my shoulders, mid cuts blow outs, tape ups, fades, he does it all. To top it off conversation is always deep and thoughtful, not just your surface level chit chat. I took my mother-in-law here as well via his recommendation. She has short coarse hair and mixture of grey and brown hair. She left feeling and looking like goddess and the color treatment was impeccable. This place knows what they're doing, and they hire only the best. Highly recommend for both men and women.

The owner is a great stylist and an awesome person.
