Wanted to take a moment to leave a positive review for this salon and the stylist who did my hair, Kiah. The salon itself is modern and beautifully decorated. It felt like I was getting my hair done in one of those salons featured in Essence Magazine that I admired as a kid. The staff was friendly and greeted each guest. No eye rolling or silent stares, everyone was kind and attentive. As for the stylist, I appreciate a full service experience! I came fresh out of braids. I got a detangle, wash, protein treatment, trim and style (weave pony). I’m a new mom so this moment of self care felt special and worthy of the price. I’ll be back!

The salon is beautiful with cute decor and a very welcoming atmosphere. As a first-time client, I appreciated how easy it was to book an appointment although I didn’t like having to send pics of the length of my hair prior to the appointment. I was genuinely excited to find a professional who specializes in natural hair. However, I was caught off guard when, halfway through my blowout, the stylist—who is also the owner, Shavon—casually mentioned that there would be an added “first-time client” fee on top of the other charges she never mentioned nor is advertised (she charged extra for curls & to clip my ends) . I paid it, but that unexpected “first timer” charge left a bad impression. I haven’t been back since.

DO NOT BOOK WITH @browsbyabeauty on ig! Extremely rude & very disrespectful! Unprofessional would be an understatement on the service my friend received! Salon Boio needs to carefully select their employees this is horrible!

The ambiance was very nice, and I was greeted warmly upon arrival. I had called ahead for a $55 pixie cut as I was told, but my hairdresser seemed reluctant when I got there, perhaps because I was a walk-in. Despite showing her a specific style that included clippers, she didn't line me up as shown in the picture. I opted not to have it styled, thinking I'd just get the cut and handle the rest (finger waves) elsewhere. However, she charged me $65 maybe bc she thought I wouldn’t tip but there was no explaining why the total changed , totaling over $75 with tip without the proper line-up. Better communication and making clients feel comfortable to explain their style would improve the experience. I would still recommend this place but just be sure on what you are paying before hand.

My first time here and I loved it! The salon was very clean and nice. The whole vibe was classy & professional. I got a silk press by “DEE” and it was amazing! He made me feel extremely comfortable, he has great customer service! I love my hair and I will be returning. So happy I found my new salon home & stylist.
