Salon 417

The salon was nice, I called at 11am and had an appointment at noon, my stylist was great, very sweet, but I felt when she styled my hair it was very old school. It's family owned and has a comfortable vibe to it. They offer many different services. I was a little disappointed that in the 3 hours that I was there getting my hair done, I was never offered a drink. It was also very pricey, but overall a good experience.

I came into this salon a few years ago sophomore year of high school after a botched box dye session that turned all my hair bright red (I have pale skin too). They were able to discount me and fix my hair after 4 hours of bleaching to the point it was a pastel pink. And then they finally made it the color I was wanting to go, which was burgundy and curled my hair and oh my gosh let me tell you it looked STUNNING. I didn’t want to wash my hair for days because it was glowing. And after all the bleach, my hair wasn’t fried and it was healthy.

Salon 417 is more like a collective rather than an owner/employee situation so I am only rating my particular stylist, Amber Davis Scott. Moving to Columbus from Baltimore, I prayed I would find a rad stylist. When it comes to hair, nothing seems impossible for Amber. She can give you what you ask for or go a little mad scientist and experiment. I highly recommend you pick the latter option ESPECIALLY if you're ready to add a little color to your life and hair. Amber has excellent taste in music, is fun to chat with and, here's the important part, she believes in diversity and inclusion. Her chair is POC and LGBTQIA friendly. I cannot recommend her enough. She's absolutely top notch so expect a short wait on her books but I assure you, it's worth it. I'd also like to give a nod to Cole. Wh

Kid friendly atmosphere. Don't be worried that you need to find a babysitter while here. These ladies are so sweet & welcoming. Kit always does such a great job with my hair. Never found a person who gets my hair needs like she does.

Jamie Melton is my hair stylist..... absolutely love her. She's the best at color that I have seen. She's also great at working with conflicts in scheduling.
