Saint Maud's

What happens inside Saint Maud’s is magical! From our 5 year old all the way up to our 12 year old, the knowledge and experiences gained go far beyond just the skills of woodworking. Our kids have and continue to gain skills they will use throughout their lifetimes. Our kids have been inspired to expand on their individual talents and interests, to take risks inside of a supportive and encouraging environment, to understand the powerful benefits of making mistakes, and to be proud of their successes! What Karl and his skilled team bring to the youth in our community is absolutely outstanding!

We have learners immersed in the Slöyd experience multiple times a month. With individual workbenches, every student is set up for success with all the necessary tools and materials required to craft their individual projects. They are encouraged to take risks under the supervision of a skilled and supportive team. There is beauty in the fact that no one’s hands touch their project other than their own. Because of this, their mistakes require repeated attempts to create a finished product. We see our kids developing as learners both inside and outside the classroom; they are learning HOW TO LEARN. Karl helped me build an awesome ski chair from my old alpine skis and then a bench. Karl has a keen eye for building and designing. He is patient and a thoughtful teacher. His setting is awesome for creating and possesses all the tools needed for building and woodworking. If you are on the Range and want to design and build; St. Mauds is the place.

Saint Maud’s is a wonderful addition to our community! Karl is an excellent teacher. The space is organized and the prices for classes are affordable. I am so happy to have this resource nearby!
