Safari African Hair Braiding

This was my first visit at Safari African Braiding shop. And I have to say everyone in there was nice and respectful. Also there was no wait when I came in I had no appointment was a walk-In sat right down and they started working on my hair. I have seen previous reviews about the shop far as them talking what shop have anybody ever went to where nobody speaks just because they speak a different language we all are the same and should be treated equal no matter also people have to eat. As long as there still focus on the client there shouldn't be no problem. I just wanted to say thank everybody who worked with me and I will be returning in two months.

I called in and made an appointment to get box braids. I specifically requested the owner braid my hair which is why I called in ahead of time. At the time, I was told I was speaking to the owner, Alex, who would also braid my hair. When I came in to get my hair braided I asked for the owner and the lady said she was her. They also had me fill out a sign in sheet which asked who was braiding my hair that day. Based on our conversation the previous week, I noted the owners name as my hair braider and the girl that was braiding my hair saw this. Fast forward to about 2 weeks after I got my hair did, I had to go back in because the braids were slipping already. I asked for the owner and the lady laughed and said the owner hasn't worked in the shop for years and she is just their dispatcher. S

For location 7601 Michigan Rd and affiliates I had the unfortunate and disastrous experience of getting my hair braided in Senegalese twists at this shop. The owner was present when I expressed my desire to have twists that are a bit bigger and she proceeded to explain how that size of twists won't last as long, maybe 2-3 weeks. I didn't believe her because I have seen many Black women rock medium to large Senegalese twists and I highly doubt they paid such a huge price for braids that don't last long. Additionally, I have always had hair texture that is more than suitable for braids that last longer than the usual time frame so I knew something wasn't right. Can I put 0 stars. Drove an hour to go to this place. I had talked to who I thought was the owner and she said that there would be so one there that could do the hair style that I had asked for I show up there is one woman working in the store. She is on the phone so I decide to wait until she talked to me waited about 10 mins she removes the phone just to ask what I was there for I told her I was there to get dreads she tell me the lady that does dreads will not be here until tomorrow. She doesn't give me a second to reply and is back on the phone to her non business related phone call by the way. So I suck it up and walk out the door at this time the worker stand in the door for a second looked around then came out shut the door and left the store was still open for another 2 or 3 hours
