Royal Cut Kings

I recently sat in Jonathan’s chair at Royal Cut Kings and he absolutely took care of me. He has been my barber for years, and while he may be new to this shop, he is definitely not new to cutting hair. Jonathan is a true Master Barber who is highly skilled, well studied, and detail-oriented. Whether it’s a clean fade, sharp line-up, beard trim, or a full haircut, he delivers every time. He takes pride in his craft and makes sure you leave the barbershop looking sharp. If you’re looking for a professional barber in Gaithersburg, Maryland who values quality, consistency, and customer service, I highly recommend booking with Jonathan. I trust him with my cut any day of the week.

Do not use this shop I repeat do not use and if you do do it at your own risk. I received a horrible start up loc set . It’s apparent I got the loctician that was not well versed in locs with very short hair but didn’t. I asked for a consultation to make sure she could deal with my short hair. Obviously she couldn’t because after doing what she told me to do the style lasted 2-3 days coming undone back to the beginning. I called her told her what happened, she wanted to do a do over which wasn’t going to work for me but for financial accountability. I didn’t accept but asked for some type of refund and we both take a hit and she didn’t accept sending me to her manager. Talking to him was like talking to a scammer and con artist all in one. He started out fast talking me with the experience

I brought my 13 year old son here about a month ago. He was hesitant to try a new place, but I wasn't loving his previous barber. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and welcomed in. The vibe here was amazing! Everyone that came in was polite and joined the conversations. Eric Julius was phenomenal! I didn't have to say anything, and he knew exactly what to do with my sons hair! We both walked out of the there knowing we "found" his spot. He loved everything about Royal Cut Kings, from the vibes, conversations, and most of all his hair!! We look forward to coming back! Thank you!!!

If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. Don’t come here, because if you book a haircut here, you may not even get a haircut AND be met with a rude unhelpful attitude. To elaborate, I booked a scalp treatment, deep conditioning massage, and haircut with Carlton at 11AM on November 30th, 2025 (see the confirmation in the attached screenshot). When I arrived to this location at 11AM in the Kentlands area, while waiting to be let in during a rainy and cold morning as the door was still locked/closed, a bald-headed man was in the barbershop using the remote on the TV. This bald man would not let me in until I made 2nd eye contact with him, even though I was clearly waiting outside the door that had a glass frame. Then, I walk in and say good morning, and he responds coldly with something

I came in late with no appointment and Eric Julius still took care of me and got me right! TJ also took care of me a few times when I first started going here in early 2024, he's great as well and they both make me feel like family.
