TLDR: Amazing experience where I felt cared for. Loving the end results more and more by the day. Don’t typically write reviews, but this one is necessary. 4 years ago in DC I got my hair cut by a stylist that didn’t listen to me and cut too much, since then I refused to trust other people with my hair. Rooted Hair Studio changed that, it was a healing experience for me. Danielle, was my stylist, she took the time to ask me questions and walked me through every step she took and every cut she made. She showed that she cared not just about the end results or whether I was happy for that day, but she cared about doing what would make me love my hair for months to come. I’ve been seeing Danielle since January of 2022 and she’s completely transformed my hair from my initial curly cut chop to present day . My hairs grown back to its original length and is thriving. Danielle and her team are so fantastic and have created a space that truly all feel welcome in. Not only are they so sincerely kind but they stay EDUCATED. The entire team is constantly investing in improving their craft to support all types of hair and textures. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I have been trying to figure out how to leave this review since my first visit here. This was by far the best experience I have had at a salon in many years. I reverted back to my natural hair after years of sew-ins and I am so happy I chose Rooted Hair Studio for this process. Danielle and her staff were phenomenal!! Danielle colored my hair and styled it and for the first time in 25 years I am back in love with my natural hair!! For all of those curly/ethnic girls, there is no reason to search any longer for a good hair place because you have found it! I grew up in the cosmetology world and was able to try every professional product, and to say the least nothing made my hair manageable. I’ve always hated my hair and was most insecure about my hair because of this. As many of you know, there is not a lot of successful places targeting curly/ethnic hair. The even harder part is finding someone who is educated and can reciprocate that back to you so you have a better understanding. I have seen both Kristen and Danielle and can 100% say I am so sad that I moved away because this is the most progress I’ve ever made with my hair. It grows faster, it is super healthy, and it is something I am finally proud of rather than

I had a very disappointing experience at this salon and will not be returning. I was only 12 minutes late to my appointment because my first Uber canceled, which was out of my control. I called to let them know I was just a few minutes away, but instead of being understanding, they canceled my appointment. I’ve been to many salons and have never had this happen for such a minor delay. On top of that, one of the employees insisted I provide my card number while I was still in the Uber, which I found inappropriate and uncomfortable. The woman I spoke to on the phone was also unnecessarily rude. I had waited weeks for this appointment, so the way I was treated was extremely disappointing. I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their professionalism and custome
