Planet Chi Salon

This is a fantastic salon located in New Kensington. I have searched for years for a stylist that could cut shirt hair cuts. Well, I found that person at Planet Chi. There is a fantastic, talented, sweet stylist there and her name is Tarra. She cut my hair to perfection and added highlights that were exactly what I asked for. The whole time being the sweetest, kindest, young woman. And, the owners Chi and Daniel are super sweet and talented as well. Please give this amazing business a try.

I absolutely recommend Planet Chi! I’ve been going there for a while now. Dan and Chi are so friendly and great people! I sincerely appreciate the time, care and attention to detail Dan gives when cutting hair. He’s had a lot of training and years of experience. I have never had a bad haircut from Daniel - in fact, all my haircuts have been perfect! He explains as much or as little of the cutting and styling process as you want. He's worked with my Undercut (shaving, maintaining, and eventual grow out), and didn't laugh at my request when I needed my hair cut to match an anime character's style. While I've not had my hair colored by Chi (yet), I love watching her work with her clients. She's infectiously fun. Both Chi and Daniel take their training very seriously. The salon is small, but full of talent. I do highly recommend their services!

Before Daniel started to cut my hair, I was a long-time client of a salon in Shadyside, even though I lived in Lower Burrell at the time. Planet Chi Salon is the only Aveda Concept Salon in the A-K Valley to meet Aveda's highest standards. As a family-owned business, they treat their customers with the respect and friendliness that small town people like me expect and appreciate. They are passionate about what they do, and are as good as any big city salon -- except they charge far less for their services and have free parking! I found Chi and Daniel in 2008 and I will never go to another hairdresser again. Chi does an awesome job on my color, Daniel rocks at cutting my hair. I am looking forward to my appointments with them every single time. Could not be more pleased.
