Pinups Hair Salon

I haven't visited every salon in town, but quite a few for my almost 40 year residence here. Several times in public, I would notice a beautiful hairstyle/coloring and ask those women where they had that done. "Pinups"— every single time. Still a skeptic due to haircut and color PTSD, I kept hacking at my own hair, fully aware I lacked the skills for the professional finish I desired. Recently, after botching my own hair up pretty good, I decided to take another risk in the salon. I am thrilled! Kelsea has some serious technical skills. Since I had given myself something of a long bob in the front and an unfinished shag in the back, she was presented with the challenge of pulling the two together while making my scared, distrustful self happy—and did she ever! Hadn’t been to get my hair done in way too long! Kelsea hooked me up!!! Took her time and I LOVE IT!!! Such a great Vibe in there!

I went twice in the span of 3 weeks. The first time was to get my bangs redone and babyhairs on my neckline removed. My stylist, Kelsea, was the absolute best. At this point I had about 30 inches of hair, so all of the girls in the salon were talking about that. I mentioned I wanted to donated and why, and Kelsea told me all about how they do hair donations for Kids with Hair Loss. I was so excited. I came back after my wedding, and Kelsea helped me realize a dream I've had for 20 years. I was able to donate 14 inches. After the length was off, and we were washing my hair, she let me have a moment to just cry. The emotional weight finally hit me and she assured me the whole time. Had a stroke at 35. The owner helped me learn to do my eyeliner one handed and gave me a free cut and color. It was really tough living in a nursing home at 35. So this meant everything to me. This was in 2012 and I’m doing amazing now. But her kindness will never leave me. Thank you for that!
