Peter Calcara Barber Shop

Formerly the best barbershop in Lancaster. As the cliche goes, it was like stepping back in time. Old fashioned cash register, rotary phone on the wall, etc. And a proper haircut with a straight razor finish around the edges. Unfortunately, old age finally caught up with Peter.

Peter was great, it’s clear from the photos on the wall that he’s been cutting hair since before I was born. It’s a simple setup inside, which is all that’s needed for an excellent haircut. Can’t beat the value either. Will certainly be going back.

I’m sure he gave a great haircut back in the day, but I think Peter’s eyesight and ability have been lost to old age and a car accident. Came out looking like a kid mowed the grass, won’t be back. I wish all the best to Peter as he told me about the accident and that he hasn’t been the same. That’s a tough road.

This is a classic barber shop where you get a great haircut for a very reasonable price. Parking is a little tricky as there is no lot, but I was able to find a spot on the street. Pete is a gentlemen and a fine barber.
