To the Owner of Petal Jolie Salon, My name is Je’ Wesley Day, and I am writing to express my deep disappointment and hurt regarding my experience at your salon. I arrived with my 79-year-old mother to inquire about scheduling her hair appointment. My mother has Alzheimer’s and suffered a stroke on October 29, 2025; she was hopeful and excited. Instead, we were ignored at your door—no greeting, no acknowledgment, no welcome. The door remained closed even though we were clearly visible. As a tall Black man wearing a skull cap, I am all too familiar with judgment and profiling in everyday America. Deeply Disappointed — Completely Unprofessional and Heartless I am writing this review because of how unacceptable and hurtful my experience was at Petal of Hair Salon. I stopped by with my 79-year-old mother to inquire about getting her hair done. Not only did the staff refuse to open the door, but they also completely ignored us—even though they clearly saw us standing there. My mother was right beside me, hopeful and excited about finding a new salon where she could feel cared for and welcomed. Instead, she was left feeling dismissed, unimportant, and embarrassed by the way we were treated. I am writing to formally express my complete dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent appointment at your salon. From the moment I arrived, the lack of communication and the unprofessional attitude was evident. After making a deposit and discussing the service I wanted, I arrived to find that the service about to be provided was completely different from what I had planned for. When I asked about the price difference, Kay casually mentioned it would be more than I had budgeted for, offering no reasonable solution or apology. I considered leaving right then, but was told my deposit wouldn’t be refunded, an explanation which was vague at best. Reluctantly, I proceeded with the traditional sew-in, but the level of care and professionalism continued to degrade from there.

Tiara is amazing! I was able to book a same day appointment with her and let me tell y’all she slayed my hair. There were some ends that had to go and she took care of it. Every step of the process was done with excellence from the shampoo to the conditioner to the blow dry to the silk press to the trim to the curls! Not only is she a true professional, she is very kind, communicative, listening, and amiable.

I have been patronizing this Salon for over 2 years. Tiffany is the ultimate haircare professional. I have observed most of the other stylist and the owner who also operate in excellence. Kenya the make up artist is also fantastic.
