Palladium-Times

I stumbled across the Palladiom-Times due to a Facebook post in a group I follow. The decline of local news over the last 20 or so years and the subsequent takeover by huge corporations is a phenomenon that I find very upsetting! I'm pretty much okay with the concept of digitization, but it really upsets me when I'm asked or forced to subscribe after reading like 3 articles. I live in Rochester where our local papers have been completely hijacked by Gannett, which sadly started in Rochester! When I delved into the history of the The Paladium and looked at the online resources a bit, I found it incredibly refreshing. I applaud the people who spearheaded the effort to bring your local media home. I don't do a lot of Google reviews, but I felt compelled to review this gem! I was shocked that

The Palladium-Times is apparently unique among "old school" newspapers - they don't need new subscribers! Over a week ago I paid for delivery + online access, primarily because my father just moved in with me and he loves to start his day by reading the local paper, with a cup of coffee. Despite the P-T charging my credit card the day I subscribed, we have yet to see a paper copy of the paper delivered. I've now called them 3 times to inquire and they promised to talk to their (3rd party) contractor who is supposed to deliver and call me back to let me know what's going on, but that hasn't happened, either. Congrats to the P-T, which must be the only newspaper in America whose print business isn't dying and who doesn't need new customers!! (yes, that was sarcasm)
