Orchid Nails & Spa

I had gotten artificial nails at a different salon and knew they didn't look or feel right. Went to Orchid for a fill and polish change and Cici recommended using dip instead of gel. She took the time to explain things to me and my nails look amazing! She was kind and friendly and did a wonderful job and I will continue to patron this salon.

I went in to get some acrylic tips and gel taken off- I got my nails done at some random salon in Syracuse and really did not like them. At first I felt like I had to get a dip nail but deep down wanted just plain manicure- I told her I changed my mind and she didn’t make me feel bad or weird about it, and my hands look fresh!

They do a wonderful job here! Long time customer. The pedicures are awesome! So are the massage chairs! The massages are great and towels smell nice ! The prices are reasonable! They take walk ins! Afternoons are open!

DO NOT GO HERE! I was such a loyal customer for over a year and a half. Cece used to do a good job but recently the service has declined so much. Just last week, I asked a question about my nails and she got annoyed at me, yanked my hands and screamed, “YOU’RE A TEACHER WHY ARE YOU SO SLOW?!” As a person who’s learning to speak up for myself, I asked politely, so I’m not sure why she spoke to me like that. What I do know from knowing her for a while now is, she would NEVER speak to an older woman or someone who looks different than me the same way. I’m not saying she’s racist, but I’ve definitely witnessed subtle bias in that place before. I obviously still paid for my service, even tipped and got the hell out of there. Such a disappointing experience. I will never go back.

I came in at 9:30 am. I was looking for a salon open early since I have a newborn at home and have to do things on his schedule. So I popped in and told the lady what I would like. She asked me about 4 times if I wanted gel. I declined. She asked about 5 times if I wanted the dip system. I declined. She asked why. I said I’m on a budget. I asked for round acrylic over natural nails and just even out the shorter nails that had broken off. She applied tips to three to make them even and started to file. I asked her why my ring finger was shorter and If she could even it out. Instead of just doing it, she started catching an attitude with me while I’m very calm and asking if she’s going to be proud that my nails are uneven. So jerking my hands around she fixes it.
