This company used to have quality hair, but now is different. I recently purchased from the platinum collection and the bundles weren’t good. Tangled easily with best products usage. I contacted them. They requested that I sent the hair for inspection first meanwhile I just paid 300 for installation just a few days prior. So I did remove and sent back. After inspection they agreed hair was defective and will exchange and they have new ones. I decided to have them construct a Upart for me with the same hair and paid separately for the service as well as shipment. When I received the Upart it was poorly made and not done the way I requested with all the details I provided. The first day I used it was all tangled again like the previous bundles. I’ve been getting my hair from Amanda at HauteLocks since 2012, back when I first moved to Miami and somehow found her on a Black hair care discussion board (listen, the internet really used to be the plug 😭). Over the years, I’ve tried hair from other places and had wigs made by different people — but nothing ever hits like a HauteLocks unit. Hautelocks been giving Quality hair had my same bundles for 5 years, Soft curls and it never looked better. Amanda the C.E.O reconstructed a wig for me with the soft curls and it looks as if I just purchased a new wig from her I love it!! Oh and Excellent customer service and the turnaround time was so quick I wasn’t ready for the unit/wig lol. Great experience and Quality hair!!! My frustration is that the curly hair feeling more synthetic, especially considering the price of nearly $289 for 26 inches. It’s disheartening when the straight hair feels so much more natural than the curly options. I’m also sharing my disappointment about the discontinuation of the red kink hair; it’s always tough when a favorite is no longer available.
