Old Town Salon and Spa is a rare place to get a good and reasonably priced haircut, color and style. The business has been around for 17 years and is at the very north of Old Town, making it easy to avoid crowds and traffic. The owner is an absolute gem, and it’s clear she has an expert understanding of the science and art of hair. I went in for a cut/highlight/style combo on very thick, semi wavy, color treated hair. She very patiently explained the best cut and the maintenance it would involve, down to the details of what brush sizes would be best for styling. One thing I especially loved is how accommodating she was— when I explained that I often go longer than recommended between upkeep appointments, there was no judgment like you might find at other places. Not only does she take the time to understand exactly what we want, she also offers expert suggestions that elevate our hairstyles. Great place that I went to in order to get my eye brows waxed. I didn't have an appointment and just showed up for a walk-in and they helped me almost immediately. The woman that waxed my eye brows definitely knew what she was doing as well. She saw there were some poorly managed spots on my eye brows upon first glance and adjusted what she did to make them look good. All in all I would definitely go back to the place. Sadly, I am not a resident here in Alexandria and was just visiting friends. If I am back in the area though I will definitely be making a stop.
