On May 17, 2025. Was my very first time coming to Next Up Barbershop. As I enter through the door into this establishment, I was greeted with the upmost respect, and professionalism, and courtesy from this young man, as he introduced himself to me (Hi, I’m Rico) welcome to Next Up. Then I properly introduced myself. I noticed how cleaned and neat this Barbershop was. Rico, I truly thank you for making my first visit here, a joyous experience. Thank you for trimming my beard, simply flawless, as a remarkable, and awesome barber, with incredible skills, and for your compassion, and commitment. NextUp Barber shop is advertised as Walk-ins are Welcome! This was not the case for me as a first time visitor, I walked in and was not met with any Greeting by anyone even though there were 3 Barbers on the floor. After 15 mins the Head barber goes to eat his food , still no acknowledgement. While another barber finishes a client and takes a nap in the far back chair . After 30 mins still no “Hi , Hello “How May I Help You? “ or any Customer Service . Kids were slap boxing and play fighting all over the work floor as well . After a whole hour of waiting and being looked over I realized Walk-in’s were not welcome. Proceed to this Business with Caution if you are not a Regular.

Been coming here for years since they were a few buildings down. Never had a problem with a hair cut from Chris. Great conversation and atmosphere.

Do not go to Rico unless you want to spend 3+ hours on a simple haircut.

One of thee best black own barbershops in Columbia, very good service. But may hath to make a appointment because of the amount of people that goes there everyday.
