I went to Next Level earlier today (FYI they do take walk-ins) and got an excellent cut from Brian after a very short wait. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in Chatham.

First time customer today. Best haircut i have received. The attention to detail and quality of work is unmatched. The owner David cut my hair and he was extremely friendly and welcoming. We started talking and having a conversation as if we've been friends for a lifetime. Another gentlemen came in for a haircut and David started talking to him then we all started talking as if we were a friend group. David really took the time to cut my hair the way that would look best and explained it all to me ahead of time. He really took his time doing a professional job. I usually only write reviews on places that aren't good, but this review is more than a positive one. The friendliness, quality of work, and prices are unmatched. Not to mention the sanitation and atmosphere of the shop is top tier.

I recently had a pretty disappointing experience and honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. I was hoping for a warm welcome as a new customer, but instead, the owner seemed totally uninterested in cutting a black guy’s hair. This was made evident when I walked in and trying to communicate via text. I was looking for a good fade, but it turned out not all the barbers there know how to do one properly. After texting, the owner just blew me off. It's a shame because you want to support local spots, but this experience just didn't hit the mark.So, yeah, Ramzi’s is much better. I'd say you might want to look elsewhere if you're after a new place for a haircut. It's important to feel welcomed and get the cut you're looking for, and unfortunately, that wasn't the case here.
