As a full-time barber student at Newberry School of Beauty, I’ve had a great experience learning and growing my skills. Mrs. Brenda, our barbering instructor, did an amazing job preparing me for the state board test, teaching me fading, scissor cutting, and pushing me to get out of my comfort zone. Mr. C, a substitute instructor, helped me with hair styling, including finger waving, designs, and fading. Mrs. V taught me scissor cutting, chemical services, and hair coloring, helping me understand the color wheel and developers, while Ms. Gaby, Ms. Sam, and Ms. Ash were very helpful with coloring, highlighting, long-hair scissor cutting, and haircutting. Please please please go to a different beauty school. Go to Pierce, anything! You won’t learn anything here! It’s a waste of money and you get treated horribly. Not once was I told to soak my implements in barbicide once on the floor, no one checks to see if you cleaned anything!!! Maybe 2 people in my area soaked their shears in barbicide after the day, and not one instructor cared. I had a teacher pierce our ears , which I’m sure is not legal, and none of the other staff knew. She later got fired for a different reason! Everyone was rude, I think Mrs.christina like to feel better than people because the way she treats her students is diabolical. I’ve been ignored by her over 10 times and she didn’t even remember my name once I was ready to graduate. Also very discouraging, will not help

This school is truly top-tier—easily a 10/10. The instructional team is experienced and dedicated, the hands-on training is consistent and high quality, and the overall atmosphere encourages creativity, professionalism, and growth. It’s the kind of place that not only teaches you to cut hair, but prepares you for long-term success in the barbering industry. This was the best School for me everyone was great the teachers helped me so much every one was very kind english is my second language and they made sure I understood and I was prepared for state board. The teachers helped me so much they were very patient and willing to go the extra mile for me. Thank you Ms. Christina Ms. Gaby Ms. Liz and everyone for making this the best experience
