New Chaya African Hair Braiding

One of the braiders here really played in my head-which is so unfortunate because the lady was nice. I showed her an inspo picture several times, and she said she could do the style, which was supposed to be stitch braids. She said “I’ll do one braid and you tell me if you like it”. I did a walk around the block with the braid, and was still unsure about it when I came back. I told her the braid needed to be redone, and it had to be tighter and like the inspo picture! The lady said she understood, and by the time all the braids were done, I could tell she must’ve been training or something, because she did not give me any bit of what I wanted. I’ve been to several hair braiders in the bronx, and this is absolutely one of the most professional. Its CLEAN inside, its AESTHETIC, the braiders are PROFESSIONAL, and honestly I hope they never leave. They get busy👀 so show up early if you can. It’s quality work. She even washed the comb after it dropped on the floor … such a small thing that no where else has done. Did i mention they can also wash your hair?? It’s just good energy. I will absolutely go back.

Nice inside and clean . And hot (no AC) All the ladies there are friendly and professional . However I will not be going back . I waisted time and money by going there . I got My braids refreshed at the top (3 rows) Should have took no more than 3 hours . She was braiding for 5 hours . She did them very neat I will Say . But my boho pieces were coming out as soon as I ran my fingers through it.... no more than an hour later while styling . I waited A few days to write this review to see if it possibly was just that day but the pieces were coming out frequently as the days went on . I wish They did a better job because the location is so convenient and i liked All of them there . If i had The time I would Take them out and get them re done again by someone else :(

i loved my experience with Chaya! It was super quick and easy to make an appointment. Usually I’m at shops for 6-7+ hours because my hair i so thick but is super quick at braiding. She’s nice, welcoming and her shop is clean & very well decorated! would recommend :)
