I’ve been visiting the National Holistic Institute in Sacramento as a client for roughly 3 months, and I can’t recommend it enough. The students are incredibly professional, and you can tell they’re being trained by top-notch instructors. Each massage is tailored to your needs, and the attention to detail is impressive. They offer two types of massages - Eastern and Western styles - so make sure to call ahead to find out which type is currently being offered that day. The clinic environment is clean, welcoming, and relaxing. Plenty of free parking spaces. They also have restrooms available for clients - just make sure to ask the front desk for the restroom code or key. I cannot tell you how bad my experience was here. And I didn’t even get a massage. I booked an appointment for my boyfriend’s birthday and received the email confirmation. I spent a WEEK calling them to further confirm and never got through. I was sent to voicemail ever. Single. Time. So I showed up anyway because I had the email confirmation. We arrive, ON TIME, and every single door is locked. We can’t even get inside the building. So I call them yet again, and get sent to voicemail, yet again. After trying to get in for a good 10 min we gave up. Then they call me not a minute after we pull out of the parking lot, asking if we are planning on showing up. This school convinced me not to take their advanced program just by how much they advertise it during the core program! Honestly feels disrespectful and a waste of our time. General thoughts: - very kind and caring staff (though often seem stretched thin) - slow paced/outdated curriculum (the amount of repetition for basic concepts is comical) - not super clean facilities/horrible fluorescent lighting - lots of body work time (probably best part of program) - not rigorous (seems like they'll pass anyone regardless of actually understanding/skill) - comprehensive but not holistic (will vaguely cover many areas relevant to massage and health but little emphasis on the interconnectivity of the material) - expensive but lots of financial aid options Overall, the school and NHI culture were n

Michael (NHI Group 78) is the Truth! Walked Out on a New Leg. Yo, gotta shout out Michael from NHI, Group 78. Straight up, I just walked out feeling like I got a brand new leg. This ankle sprain has been buggin' me for years, low-key, but the last few months it's been straight stressing me and my whole routine. Michael handled biz, gave me that work, and now the mobility is fire. Real talk, if you're dealing with old injuries that keep creepin' back, he's the one to go see. Absolutely the best massage school in the area. The instructors are knowledgeable, hands-on, and truly care about your growth. The curriculum is well-structured, and the environment is professional. The entire staff is supportive, and a special shoutout to Shawn, his depth of knowledge, patience, and genuine kindness make every class better.
