Nails by Design

I went a year ago and Tommy does a fantastic job, however today I must say I can’t say it was great. I had booked with Tommy made an appointment, arrived at 4:55 for my appointment at 5:00 pm. I was sat and waited for 15 min and the owner (I think he’s a very kind person) did my nails. The whole time it felt rushed, almost panicked. My nails are completely crooked, a good bit of my nail bed is sticking out. Nail design is cute but not the crookedness. My nieces nails are also crooked and they seemed very upset, after she asked for a flower instead of the other design on just one finger. This was her first time at a nail salon. I understand that they were swamped but that doesn’t mean they should rush through a service especially if I am paying $246. When I get back to Portland, I’m soaki

I went here to get a pedicure service because my usual spot is closed today. Definitely felt boujee. Don’t recommended getting the classic pedicure, the difference between that and the express one is a wax thing. It kinda feels like when we used to stick our fingers in the candle and get wax on the tip. Not much difference at the end of the day. I did like that they include hot towels and a complimentary beverage. That is what stood out to me then my go to salon. At the end they did over charge us, I should’ve asked for a receipt. I’m not sure if it is because they include gratuity? Anyways it is a luxury to gets your nails done so I’ll pay for a good service and this def was one. Good customer service and attention. I will return, I’ll just get the express a service and bring my kit.

I have been to this location on two separate occasions and have felt disappointed every visit. The first time I got a pedicure w/gel nails ($75). I was never given the nail kit that I paid for ($7) and when I called back I was told to ask for "Sonny" the next time I went in. I was just in yesterday for a nail removal and paint (natural nail w/gel) this ended being $78. I know I didnt ask for a manicure but the tech insisted on applying lotion which was done so violently it ended up being painful and uncomfortable. After returning home I noticed that my nails were not cut evenly. On top of that I honestly do not feel that they understand their own fees. I was told by the nail tech that the removal was part of the standard fee and the design was an additional $18 (used a magnent for cat eye

This was our first time visiting this nail salon. I wanted to treat my girl to a relaxing day before she is due 🥰. Monica took my turquoise and floral branches and made it even better than my inspo pic. Emily worked my friend's leopard prints to life with the perfect touch of sparkle. The attention to detail and creativity, truly made our day. We left feeling happy, and so thankful she could enjoy herself before baby arrives. We’ll definitely be back for more “us” time. I got hybrid gel nails done today by Emily, and I’m absolutely in love!! She did amazing, she was quick, and we had a great conversation. Her job looks exactly like- if not BETTER- than the inspiration I brought to her. I will absolutely be coming back to her! I also received a deluxe pedicure from Ana, and she was also amazing! She did not mind letting me pick a different color after I decided I did not like my first choice, even after she tried telling me first that she didn’t think it was my color 😂 and the pedicure was so amazing, so relaxing for me!!
