Mur on Main (A Mur Salon)

Dani Willumsen was my stylist! Dani did SUCH an incredible job on my hair! I usually hate getting my haircut and I had such a fun time with her creating a long shag look. I showed her inspo pics and she did exactly what I had in mind, perfectly curated for my hair type. She even gave me styling tips and was overall a great hang. I would highly recommend Dani to anyone! The Mur Salon itself was very nice. I would just note to the owner that clients should know if they have to walk down stairs for accessibility purposes. Maybe note which hairstylists are located on the bottom floor so disabled clients are aware in case they need assistance. Anyway, Dani was incredible and I will for sure be seeing her from now on!

I loveee my hair!! It came out so good and vibrant and I love the cut. Amber was so good about talking with me and getting me where I want to be. When I wasn't sure about layers, they were immediately willing to just do a little and go back later and do more if I changed my mind. I had a weird kind of previous color on my hair, and so many stylists here were ready to help in any way they could to get me to the red I wanted without damaging my hair. It was so welcoming and positive and I'm so coming back here. Other salons try to convince me to be more basic--not here!

I’ve been going to Mur on Main for several years, and I happily drive over an hour for my appointments. The reason is simple: Amber Downey is exceptional. Amber has been cutting my hair for over 8 years, and she consistently does an amazing job. She combines skill, professionalism, and a great sense of style. I always leave feeling confident and well taken care of. Not to mention, she has a wonderful ear for listening and truly supports her clients through any and every situation. I love Mur on Main and the Mur Salon in Guilford. Both locations are awesome. I feel welcome the second I walk in the door. The owner, Dee, is devoted to her employees and their clients. It is so refreshing to walk into a salon where the employees love where they work. The vibe is so positive. And I can't say enough positive things about my stylist, Amber Downey! She listens and gives great advice. She is knowledgeable and fun. And the results are fabulous. She knows how to deal with my thick unmanageable hair. Jemma Herd @ Mur on Main is an outstanding creative professional. She listens closely, is flexible and fun, she has stories to share (and is cool with silence). I used to do my own hair, and now I am so thrilled to trust her with my head. And I love what it all looks like. Tonight we brought my four year old in for her first haircut. Jemma was so kind and considerate, helped her feel so safe and celebrated. So grateful for her and her work!
