MJ's barber shop & hair salon

Says “walk-ins welcome” and “open Sundays until 5,” I came today, 10/5/25 (Sunday) around 1:52 PM to bring my son for a shape-up. There was only one customer waiting, but we were not welcomed or acknowledged. The barber didn’t ask what we needed, just shook his head “no.” Another customer had to tell us it was “appointments only.” Very rude and unprofessional experience. Never again. I ended up going to Jaime Carlos’s Barbershop down the street. Much busier, more than 1 client waiting, yet they welcomed us and took my son with no problem.

I been going to this barbershop for years and I love it, specifically, because I have the best barber there, Cesar ! He always has me looking like fly and Tea! He makes me feel comfortable and he’s friendly, professional and even goes beyond by cutting my nose hairs ! I suggest you make an appointment with him ASAP or walk in’s are welcomed , but mostly during the weekdays , not the weekends unless it’s not busy !

I’ve been coming to this barbershop maybe six months and the person who cut my hair does a good job, but the atmosphere is very uncomfortable. Barber Antony likes to ask you questions in regarding Who are you dating as if they’re trying to figure out if you like women or not and it’s disrespectful to talk about people in Spanish, even though you understand what they’re saying, you just can’t speak Spanish back. I don’t pay for you to ask me questions. I pay you to cut my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!Not a place for people of color. I also noticed that this doesn’t happen to others but me. Always trying to get me to ask the female barber out. Trust and believe I don’t have any issues meeting anyone. Worry about you and you only!!!!!! That’s it.

I do a walk-in every 10 days or so and they always take me with a great attitude. Never had a bad haircut here — I get a traditional skinfade with a part. You won't be disappointed at Santiago!

Completely unprofessional. I called in yesterday, on a Saturday, and asked if they took walk-ins. The man that answered the phone assured me they did. I go inside and sit down to wait, mind you, there were NOT a lot of people. Each barber was cutting a guy, and then there was one other guy waiting, aside from myself. The barbers finished pretty quickly. I was waiting around to see which barber would signal me to come sit in their chair since now it would’ve been my turn to get my cut. They all said they had appointments coming in soon and couldn’t take me. I asked “why would you say you take walk-ins on the phone, and then have me wait, only to tell me you can’t cut my hair and to come tomorrow?”… TOMORROW?! I’ll never come to this place again!
