Mimis African Hair Braiding

Absolutely unacceptable experience. The staff openly spoke about clients in French, which felt extremely unprofessional. Customer service was poor from start to finish, and the braiding was done far too tightly—so tight that my scalp began bleeding. No service should ever cause that level of pain or injury. The synthetic hair (was told it was human) used for my boho style was already tangled and looked messy before I even left the salon. To make matters worse, the stylist repeatedly pressed the rat-tail comb against my head near my eye whenever I shifted due to discomfort, which felt careless and unsafe. I will not be returning and do not recommend this salon.

I absolutely love Mimi and her incredible talent! She has a true gift when it comes to braiding hair. Every time she braids my daughter's hair, the styles are stunning and last an incredible 6-8 weeks—talk about durability and quality! Yes, there’s plenty of chatting and a full day involved when you’re getting a detailed braiding style, but it’s absolutely worth it. When you leave Mimi’s chair, you walk out looking SEXY and GORGEOUS! Her attention to detail and passion for her craft shine through in every braid. They always take their time and make sure you are highly satisfied with your braids and willing to go the extra mile if you fail to be highly satisfied. The shop environment looks ok. I came in the shop wanting to get box braids and almost left with no style. The lady that was braiding my hair assured me that I didn’t have to worry and that my hair would look nice. She got really close to being done with my hair and the last thing that she was going to do was dip my ends. I got up and looked at my hairstyle and was shocked. It looked nothing like I expected. To make a long story short the lady requested me to pay half for her time, which I did and I also had to pay full price for a different style that was sub par. Most of not all of the stylist in this shop can barely braid. The only one that might be halfway decent is the older lady that is the owner of the shop. They take alllllllll day on your head and trust me that is not an understat

By far the worst experience I had first time going to Mimi’s I ended up getting an sewin done with closure and the hair was just everywhere like she literally missed an whole Side of my head contact the Mimi’s and she told me To come back to have it fix the next day after I went back I am guessing the lady was upset she had to fix my hair she knew she messed my hair up from The jump she had the thread so tight in my Hair I ended up haven to take it out cause my scrap was so irritated it started to bleed text Mimi’s to let her know bout this and told her I had to take it out no response was given will not be going here ever again …….
