McDowell News

To be a small paper it is always keeping up with the County & Many State issues. It helps the Community know not only about news, County & Statewide events. As well as giving the residents of McDowell a chance to include personal family Milestone's, Birthdays, Pictures & even Obituaries. Not going to lie though. It will cost you more than you might think. To place something in the paper. But it is trully worth it. Plus the people are really nice & will help you every bit of the way.

Granted that we should support local....I subscribed to the McDowell News, and after a few weeks, I felt that it was a waste of my time and money. I canceled the subscription, but they did an automatic renewal. I called customer service and was told that money would be refunded. It has been over one month, and my money has not been refunded. I have been getting numerous emails offering special deals to resubscribe. I am disappointed in the quality of the paper as well as their customer service.

I really enjoy the newspaper and have been a subscriber for quite some time. The reason for the two star rating is that on more than several occasions they fail to deliver my paper. When this happens I have to physically go down to their office to pick a paper up; which defeats the purpose of subscribing. I hope they get their act together, or I will have to change to a different paper.

The worst, most unreliable home delivery service I have ever experienced. Great newspaper otherwise, when it's delivered. Switching to Asheville citizen times until they get reliable, consistent delivery in place.

The McDowell News is a great hometown newspaper and community supporter. It is my first place to look for news.
