Maya African Hair Braiding

Maya is a trashy person. She over charged me for medium box braids and did a horrible job. She did medium braids in the front with raggedy parts but jumbo boxes in the back. The woman in the shop who helps her does not speak English so that makes the experience even more difficult. Maya yelled at me and threatened me when I requested for her to redo my braids and when I returned for a redo, they cut my hair a little. I finally asked for a refund and she refused. She is a horrible braider.

Called and asked if she had availability and she told me a time , I showed up showed her what I wanted and it was do . So polite and humorous. Definitely will return

It took me some time to write this review because I tried to see if amends could be made but no. The pain that I endured from this was like nothing else I've ever experienced. This photo is of my last crotchet design from this business. I asked Maya multiple times not to allow her assistant to braid my hair because the assistant braids too tight, since I am getting crotchet. Each time Maya assured me the assistant would not braid tight. She hands me off.. again. This photo was THE last time I ever step foot in the establishment. My hairline around the edges is now short due to this. My typical hairdresser couldn't believe how much hair I lost because of this situation. Please go somewhere else. I thought I didn't have a choice... but YOU do.

maya is a rude person and don’t know how to do two braids they were uneven and the back was out then when asked can she fix it she fixed it and did the same thing .! so I ask for a refund she was disrespect and didn’t give me my money back also the people she was in the salon with they were all talking about me in their language and was toooo pricey 60 dollars for 2 braids

Maya is professional and pleasant. Reasonable price that didn't change at the end of the service. Carol did an excellent job interlocking my locks. It was done in about 2 hours. I will definitely return.
