I’ve been frequenting this establishment since it was called Guava, which is a store front right behind their current location. 10 Years. While I appreciate local options, it’s important to have QUALITY products. On several occasions, I’ve had issues with the DND gel polish. I don’t think it’s a manufacturer error. I believe the shelf life is horrible. It’s been a hit and miss for a while, but lately, it’s been consistent problems but I love this brand. So, going forward, I will order straight from the company versus the store. To the owner- please rotate your products! They do expire! Also, I’ve had defected pedi liners that shouldn’t be on the shelves. To the owner- before you put product in your isles, please make sure there are no defects! EVERY liner out the package was a defect! I d

I’ve been going to maxi since I was ab 19, (almost 10 years) I’m an AA and I see so many disheartening comments. They’re not racist or prejudice. They’re just not used to seeing an Influx of us doing nails, let alone licensed. You have to be LICENSED to go to a professional, state board supply shop. Hair, nails esthetician.Untrained professionals should never handle the chemicals we do, nor should be allowed to. There’s a language barrier but they’re still very polite & helpful. If you don’t see them asking for someone’s license 9/10 it’s because they’re used to seeing them! They’re great, it’s my fav supply store.

I am an African American woman. When I walked into this establishment, I didn’t receive a greeting even though I made eye contact with the man at the register. I greeted the man and he ignored me. Then a Caucasian couple walked in after me.(literally within seconds of me walking in) He greeted the couple first in a friendly tone. I had to walk out and not purchase anything just for the fact that this man did treat customers equally based on appearance. This incident made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This young man is rude and unprofessional.

I have been to this store on two different occasions and have been refused service because I am not a “licensed” nail tech. Each time I was in the store shopping around, there would be people walking in and purchasing items. When they get to the register not a single employee asked anybody for a phone number or nail license. Only myself. Employees as well as customers are obviously making side comments about me and would speak to each other in their native tongue while side-eyeing me, looking me up and down in negative ways, or just being flat out rude as if I do not belong in a place like that. Or around people like them. Even looking disgusted because I have my own nails done, looking better than what a “professional” gets paid to do. There are not many Black male nail technicians, but t
