Maty African Hair Braiding

This hair shop was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I spent $165 dollars on a cornrow style with box braids in the back. The braids started flaking and lifting after a week. I returned to the shop after being told by the main Braider Maty herself, she would retouch up the cornrows at an additional price. I got there at the time she asked me to come. Only to be waiting for over an hour and not properly communicated to about the wait. Even after that I had to come back 3 hours later and still ask for help before someone started on my hair. This was a pure example of what I asked for vs what I got . The owner Maty was the one that did my hair. Maty has done my hair multiple times over the last two decades. I should had known something was not right when the other stylist couldn't do feeding braids into a bun. I waited two hours for Maty to finished braiding someone's hair before doing mines. I showed Maty a picture of the hair style in which she took a picture of the picture on my phone. I told Maty that i wanted my bun high and my hair just like this picture. Maty pointed to a picture on the shop wall similar to the style I wanted. Horrible horrible service!! My daughter wanted about 14 to 16 mid back length jumbo knotless braids, I first called them to ask what was the price for it and I was told $130. When we got to the hair shop the owner said her daughter is going to do my daughter’s hair. Before she even started my daughter’s hair I showed her a picture of exactly what my daughter wanted and once she was finished my daughter’s hair looked nothing like the picture. With that being said she did nothing that was asked for or showed to her instead she did what she wanted to do or rather what she knew how to do, the parts were uneven and different sizes, she made the braids butt length. This is the worst African braiding place ever, the employees are unprofessional and if Maty is not there, they lack unprofessionalism. Wanted to get my child hair done for back to school, they let us sit there for hours waiting and then told us to come the next day because she was too tired, unprofessional, if Maty is not there I wouldn’t let none of them touch my hair, horrible experience just terrible.

I got boho braids and the girl did a horrible job and took forever to do it! It’s haven’t been a week and my braids look a month old. It was a total of four women and they all did a horrible job on everybody hair . I should have known when I walked in and nobody was there to leave. Because I remember when Maty ‘s use to be packed . They definitely fell off!!!!!
