I had an incredible experience at Matadors Grooming Salon. I came in with a medium-length, messy, country-boy haircut right before an important interview and asked for a gentleman’s cut. I booked my appointment with Louis online, and from the moment I walked in, the service was outstanding. I was greeted immediately and even offered a drink while I waited. Louis came over shortly after, sat me down, and got to work—and his 20 years of professionalism really showed. His attention to detail was on point, and the end result was easily one of the best haircuts I’ve had in years. I walked out looking sharp and confident, and even my wife commented on how I finally looked like a man with a clean, polished style instead of the shaggy mess I walked in with. I visited Matador Men’s Grooming at Alamo Ranch about six months ago for a haircut before my wedding, and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. I explained clearly how I wanted my hair cut, but the result was nothing like what I asked for. On top of that, my beard was shaved without asking for my preference, and I was simply told it “looked good.” My wife also disliked the haircut, and at that point there wasn’t anything I could do to fix it before the event. For a service that cost over $100, I expected much better attention to detail and communication. I’ve had far better haircuts at places that charge a fraction of the price. I haven’t gone back since, and based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this location.

This was a perfect first visit. The service was exceptional and he met every one of our needs. He has definitely gained a new client. Thank you for being so attentive to our requests and making the experience such a great one.

I usually do not go to these places, but decided to do a man's spa day. Easy appointment, easy check in, no long wait, was offered drinks while I was there, they do have a bar but being before noon I passed. Beard Wash, hot towel, razor line up shave was very relaxing. I enjoyed the service and if you have the time and money I would highly recommend services took about 40-50 minutes.

I was looking for a more professional barber and I think I found it. I was running late about 10 mins so I called ahead to tell them I was running late. They told me no problem and to go ahead and take my time and there was no rush. I proceeded to go to the incorrect location, feeling defeated I called again expecting to have to reschedule....... Nope, they said no problem take my time and come in (mind you my toddler is now very upset he did not get his haircut). I sat in 30 mins of traffic on Alamo ranch and arrived now an hour late, place is dead empty and I don't get it. The service was amazing, the staff was friendly the haircuts were exactly what I wanted, and they talk sports (sports fans are becoming increasingly rare). Let's not even mention the full bar and the drinks for the kid
