Mary's Hair Salon & Barber Shop

Been going to this location ever since I was a little kid and it’s the best barbershop in KCMO. Great service, wonderful staff and amazing prices. Bensel (hopefully I spelt it right) is my favorite barber here and the only one I trust with my hair as he gets it right every single time! Bit of a language barrier but I’m working on improving my Spanish so we can converse better. Thank you Bensel!

Apologies for late review, Life happens…. :( I Recommend for sure! 😊 Anyway me and my family all got a nice haircut I got my face done. I was absolutely pleased by the patience they had with my children and the outstanding job they did on all of us! Everyone was Friendly and non judgmental which is a plus to me Great quality overall. I definitely know we will be back soon. :)

I've lived in Mary's neighborhood for 15 years. When I went to Mary's, I only got a cut and the cut was average at best. I wasn't happy but I wasn't unhappy either. I've had worse. The atmosphere was cold. They weren't very friendly but I put that off to: I speak no spanish and that there was only one lady in Mary's who spoke some english at the time. I would have given Mary's two stars then. I haven't been back. It's 5-6 years later and I saw some beautiful work done on a young lady that someone at Mary's was supposed to have done. If so, I was willing to sit there with nobody to talk to, again. I could have given them a second chance. But I can't ever get through. For a week now, it goes straight to voicemail that's not set up. I give up.

When I called inquiring for a price just to get his sides faded the gentleman quoted me $7. In the end we paid $15 for an okay fade, his lines were noticeably uneven, one side was faded lower than the other and the back was an uneven cut. I am all in when it comes to supporting locally owned businesses but you're charging double for a fade, $15 is for a basic hair cut at Great Clips and even at Walmart. I understand barbers make their own prices based on the hair cut/style, but I could've done what he did for free and I can't even cut a straight line.

The cut was so bad that i was motivated to leave a review. The owner cut my brothers hair and not only was it uneven they burned a circle on the back of his head! The top was uneven and the sides were not blended or even straight. On top she managed to scrap his skin. 👋
