Mary's African Hair Braiding

Over the phone Mary told me $170 for medium box braids if they provided the hair . After my hair was finished they changed the price to $190 saying the length was long but didn’t even finish the braids closer to the ends a lot of left over hair towards the bottoms . Used the nappiest hair in the shop not even decent hair. When I told them it was hurting they would say ok but never loosened up the the grip, I’ll be bald around my edges . Will not be back

Im from St. Louis, and the quality work these people do is trash. They dont have consistent pricing. I was told $150 over the phone, get there she said extra $50 for length. Cool. I have Senegalese twist , They didn’t use any gel/ molding product. When they finished they didn’t apply mousse, nor oil sheen didn’t trim, didn’t dip when finished. My twist are all different sizes i would not recommend. Its like the whole shop is practicing…. I want my money back my hair is a mess. $320 for this would b highway robbery

If I could give zero stars I would. This is MY experience. I went to this location because of the reviews and star rating. The shop is dirty bugs crawling on the floors, they use dirty combs on your hair. I went twice. First time new customer and noticed the dirty combs they use on my hair I didn’t say anything bc wanted to be nice, they did braids and I went back to have them fix braids. Second time returning customer giving another try didn’t want to go because of the dirty combs but hey maybe they washed them NOPE. Mary’s service is very bad when have to re-do braids. The other women are great braiders. They know how to braid but not style. First time I go, I asked for box braids, I wasn’t aware that I needed to specify knotless so once she was half way through my hair I noticed knots,

Hair appointment was amazing!!! She charged 170$ for knotless braids the style itself is really cute. I recommend if you want to have a style from Pinterest come here.

Hair was not braided the same through my head. I was charged $170 for this. I talked with the owner and asked if they did spring twist and she said yes. I asked if I should buy the spring twist hair and she said yes. I got there and no one knew how to do. I ended up wasting money on the hair and had to use theirs. I asked for a discount and they told me no. The twist look horrible. I will not be going back. I do want to say although the owner was not present and had to be away for personal reasons, I do feel that she may need to reevaluate what styles that her staff can do and also teach them about not rushing their work.
