Mary's African Hair Braiding

I went for 2 cornrows braids and waited for 2 hours. The owner never said hey it will take so and so time. She continued braiding clients hair and had me sitting for 2 hours. Very unprofessional. I got very annoyed and went somewhere else was done in 15 minutes.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I came in a week before to confirm they were able to braid my hair because I big chopped 3 months prior. I was given a quote of $300 for small to medium braids. I came in the following week and I paid $250 and heard them giving out different prices to different people for the same exact style. She quoted one person $200 for the same braids that I got. Two day after getting my hair done, 2-3 braids slipped out and I went back and she braided... a day later one of the same braids came out. It has now been almost three weeks and half my braids are out in the back. Totally pissed and do not recommend.

Let me start off by saying this,It is extremely unfortunate that I have to write such a negative review for a black business because I am somebody that always tries to support people within my community, but there is a lot of growing that needs to be done in this shop, especially if Mary truly cares about her business, she either needs to educate her workers on professionalism or pay for anger management classes. Number one I enter the shop and ask Haja If she can do small back length knotless braids showed her an inspiration photo and she agreed she started with the back of my head and I stopped her and said “do you mind making it smaller like the picture?” she said OK but proceeded to do another row of medium braids. I went to get my hair in passion twist last week Tuesday. The lady who made my appointment asked me to come in at 4pm for me to get there and still wait an hour before being seen. Then when it was time to be given a price apparently the woman on the phone was supposed to tell me and didn’t. They tried to charge $240 for the service. I thought that was ridiculous for passion twist and paid $200. I guess one of the ladies didn’t like that and decided to have a nasty attitude about it, but I’m glad I didn’t pay $240 and actually upset I paid $200 because days later 3 twist came out. 2 in the front and 1 in the back. I went here and they were really rude. I don’t understand why. I have been coming to this place little over a year now just to get my braid down to do my wigs. And they were fighting and super disrespectful to other customers. I was fine and had no issue but I don’t want to see people fighting and arguing while I’m going my hair…very unprofessional
