Martin's Salon of Sewickley

This is my second time going to the salon and it will be my new regular place. Mike (stylist and owner) did trim and highlights and I love it. He is super fast too, which is great for me because I tend to squirm in the chair!

The salon is small, clean and set up for efficiency. They offer you something to drink while you are there. I get my hair done by Mary Catherine. I have a short pixie. She seems to have a good eye for what style pixie fits my face and my personal preference best. She asks lots of questions along the way and takes my feedback with openness. She knows how to carry on a good conversation or sit in comfortable silence. I have gone away to try and find less expensive options. Especially with wanting to keep my pixie short and clean it can get pricey getting it done as often as I do. However, I always find my way back to Mary Catherine because she really does a good cut and has a great personality!

Mary-Catherine is a GEM. I was so frustrated with my hair as well as stylists who didn't listen. She gave me exactly what I wanted: low maintenance, looks great, gives me magical confidence. She is also super friendly and nice. I will keep coming back! Update: over a year later, and I'm still thrilled. I'd give her 6 stars if I could. The receptionist is extremely nice and helpful; the whole experience is excellent.

The stylists are wonderful but the owner is quite unprofessional. I called to clear up a scheduling issue and while we were on the phone the call dropped. When I called back he screamed up me for hanging up (which if I had hung up, why would I have called back?) and then he hung up on me. I loved my stylist here, and when we moved 45 minutes away she was worth the drive, but I can't in good faith patronize a place with such an irrational owner. I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Sewickley Chamber of Commerce about him.

They use the only line that truly lifts the color out of my hair to give me the coolest highlights (Goldwell). Mandy is wonderful!
