Mama's African Hair Braiding

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this African braiding shop. I asked for large boho knotless braids, and what I got was poorly done and not worth the time or money at all. The parts were uneven, the braids were way too thick in some areas and thin in others, and the “boho” pieces looked messy and rushed instead of neat and intentional. Several braids started slipping and frizzing within days. Customer service was just as bad. When I pointed out my concerns, they were dismissive and acted like I was being picky instead of addressing the problem professionally. For the price they charge, I expected much better craftsmanship and care. I would not recommend this shop if you’re looking for neat, professional, or long-lasting boho knotless braids. Went to the shop to get my faux locs taken out. The woman with glasses and second chair when you walk in cut at least 10 braids out and said absolutely nothing. Wished she would’ve said the braids were too small to take out instead of just cutting my hair. Been coming here for over 5 years and this experience was the last straw outside of inconsistent prices.

Awful service and nasty attitudes! Then the sister had the nerves to say I don’t like to PAY! Wrong I don’t like being overcharged! Then both women that was doing my hair was talking about me in their language, how rude! The sister kept making ugly faces,,,,, my braids was NOT CLEANED I had to go home and clean them myself using a cigarette lighter and scissors smh but I just paid them right,,,, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else I won’t be patronizing this place again! Also she kept asking for payment as if I wasn’t going to pay how sad and pathetic! 2/10

If I could rate this place zero stars I would. First, they are very unprofessional, full of scam artist and rude. When I first Walked in they did not feel welcoming, they asked me what I wanted and I told them Small knotless waist length. She stated 200. Mind you the only reason I came here was because my friend came to this shop previously and Told me That it was 220 for small waist length knotless. Anyways, I said 200? Okay that’s fine. I sat in the chair and they began my hair immediately. They was very rough and tore right through my ends and the braiding was very tight. The braider ask me was the length okay while pointing to my waist and I said yes waist length. They finish and i get up and pay them 200. The lady looks at me with a smug face and i am genuinely confused as to why. Sh
