Maker Nexus

My brother and I attended their basic fabric repair class. They intentionally keep class sizes small for everyone to get tailored attention. We had Ally as our instructor and it was a great starter class. I look forward to attending more classes at this location for other reasons.

My son and I took 3 woodworking classes here. Alex is an amazing teacher. The Maker stuff is friendly and nice. The woodworking shop is awesome. We really enjoyed all the classes. We learned a lot. I highly recommend Maker Nexus to all my friends.

As someone who's been crafting for the last 40 years, I find this place to be inspirational! So many fun new things to learn and old skills to dust off. No matter what it is that YOU would like to make, Nexus most likely has a class for you. Want to learn to do 3D printing? I did that class tonight! The instructor Owen was very thorough in his preparing us to use several different varieties of 3D printers. Very much enjoyed the class and now I feel confident that I can use the 3D printers in the makerspace as well as the one I have at home. I am looking forward to taking other classes here. The range of things you can try here is pretty astounding! Something I did not expect was how diverse this group of people is and how welcoming they are. Every time you go there you're going to bump

Membership provides access to a plethora of craft and hobby tools. From sewing and vinyl crafting to wood shop and metal shop, if you can think it, you can do it here. Membership per month can be pricey for some ($160/month for hobbyist membership), but it was been well worth it for me a cosplayer and my husband as a figurine maker. He loves using the resin printer and laser cutters. My favorites are the embroidery machine and large format vinyl cutters.

Be aware that the tools they advertise access to are not available with the (already high) membership fee. They require you to take extra classes costing up to $85 per tool in some cases to access basics like saws, grinders, and welders. I would understand having to complete a safety course, but to advertise access to tools that a membership does not provide access to is absolutely deceptive and wrong.
