Madison Reed Hair Color Bar Gaithersburg

Today was my 1st appointment and visiting the color bar in Gaithersburg, and it won't be my last. I also signed up for the monthly member subscription package. Amanda consulted me in which color would be perfect for me and to cover up my gray. We decided on the mocha brown and the color took well on my natural curly hair, and it reminded me of my high school years. My hair was blow dried, and flat iron by another stylist and she did a superb job. All the stylists were very friendly, personable and professional. Thank you so much ladies.

These ladies know what they are doing. After years of DIY coloring, I was tired of trying to cover the gray and needed to go lighter but was afraid of the cost and chemicals (happily MR products don't contain the standard ones). I am thrilled I took the leap and decided to trust their knowledge! I was extremely happy with the outcome and the fact that I could go much much longer without touch-ups. And I also received many compliments on the color! I am now a monthly member.

I trusted this salon for a color correction after a box dye mistake — and this is what I left with (photos attached). Instead of fixing the warmth at my roots, they gave me four different shades of orange and even random pink streaks. The manager kept rushing the stylist the entire time, saying they “weren’t a full-service salon,” which made everything feel rushed and careless. By the time I finished blow-drying my own hair, it was clear how bad it looked. They offered to fix it for free, but there was no way I’d let them touch my hair again. I had to go to another salon the next day and pay out of pocket just to repair the damage. Absolutely do not recommend.

Amanda was EXCELLENT! This was my first time at this location and I made the appointment on line just a few hours prior. Amanda greeted me immediately and we began my full color session. There was no rushing as she was professional and personable throughout...no residual dye stain on skin, no stray dye on clothes and no wet neck from rinseout (has happened with others). I was out of the shop with a smile on my face and perfectly colored hair in just over an hours time.

Horrendous. Went in to correct refresh color that had faded. The experience was okay. Not luxurious by any means. Felt like I was passed off to several people. My blonde hair had blue streaks. I was not gonna let them touch my hair again. Left with an at home toner to fix my hair myself.$200 wasted. Could have done a better job myself. Terrible experience. Would not recommend. Avoid this place.
