I booked a balayage appointment but ended up with a noticeable 1–2 inch solid dark band at the roots that resembles grown-out hair rather than intentional blending. I was told this was gray coverage and that balayage does not go to the scalp. However, I’ve had balayage many times before (including with gray coverage), and the color was always blended much more seamlessly with a root melt or soft transition. I’ve attached a photo to show the solid dark band at the roots, which lacks the soft blending typically expected with balayage. When I expressed concern, the response focused on justification rather than acknowledging the visual result. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the outcome I expected.

Backstory: I dyed my hair Jet Black many times throughout 2023 and suddenly wanted to be spontaneous by using a hair color remover from Sally's then slapping on some dark brown dye. I messed it up real bad by doing it by myself and needed to be rescued because the new semester of school begins next week. I called on Saturday and was able to get an appointment with Monica on Wednesday. First, she had to bleach the hair to get the dark & old colors out, then she color matched the shade of the hair extensions that I brought in and chose the best brown to fit. Between the washes, the head massages were really nice, finally after coloring- she clipped the extensions in and began layering it to fit my real shorter hair. I have been looking for a hair stylist for quite sometime and came across Monica on Instagram. Scheduling with Monica was easy and when I went in, she was so patient and gentle with my hair. She was very friendly, easy-going, professional and knowledgeable. She took her time to color my hair and did such a beautiful job. I was very pleased with her service. This was my very first time at M beauty salon great service friendly staff and affordable . I was looking on google for a good place for a haircut and saw great review on here i had to try it out to get my haircut and it turn out amazing i would defiantly come back again
