L&R Salon - Sherman Oaks

I went to this salon many many times to attempt to grow out my out a permanent hair straightening, using keratin to help the process look less shocking. I noticed that the top layer of my hair seemed to be somehow fried straight, while the bottom layer grew out to be super curly. I kept on coming back, because I kept on being told it would back to normal. I went to the ocean many times, intentionally used shampoos with sulfate, and constantly used clarifying shampoos; I’ve waited just about 7 months, And still, the bottom half of my hair is incredibly curly while the top is fried pin straight. I went to another hairdresser and their opinion was that this salon probably used a permanent treatment on the top, and a keratin treatment at the bottom, because it wouldn’t make sense to have such

I am writing this review on behalf of my girlfriend, who had an extremely disappointing experience at L and R Salon. She booked a treatment and drove an hour to get there, taking the morning off work. Just five minutes before her appointment, she received a call informing her that the stylist didn’t show up. Despite emphasizing that she needed the treatment done that day and informing them she was coming anyway, the owner, Roy, who was there, was rude, unprofessional, and refused to help. She was asked to leave, which is completely unacceptable. This isn’t the first time she has had a negative experience at L and R Salon. Really enjoyed my experience here. Roy and Sylvia are very knowledgeable. The organic treatment I received in February lasted me about 5 & a half months which was amazing. The air ventilation room is amazing as I’ve never seen this in other salons before but is definitely great when doing any sort of hair treatment. Overall, I definitely recommend and find the prices to be extremely fair in comparison to the area.

Very clean salon, well ventilated, excellent experience and results of keratin treatment. Yelena was wonderful and spent a lot of time making sure my hair was thoroughly straightened and smoothed after the keratin treatment.

I recently visited for a keratin treatment, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and professional. My stylist, Roy, really listened to my concerns about frizz and took the time to explain the entire process.
