Lolo African Braiders

My review is based on unprofessional. She will schedule your appointment time but when the time comes and you get there there will be a shop fully booked with other clients. Shes is never on time and has others with little to no experience do your hair when she is overly booked! Also, when correcting her or the braiders i've noticed that they become frustrated and begin to speak in a different language (no judgement here but I find that disrespectful b/c that can be perceived different ways). Not to mention, when she finally starts your hair, she stops in the middle of braiding to begin other clients hair. Sometimes even leave. Not to mention, she gives you a quote over the phone but will then try to change the price when she or the other braider(s) are done as if she wasn't already late,

I give this place 5 stars! So this was my very first time here I’ve lived in this area for about 2 years but I’m from the upstate! I’ve been going to braiding shops for years so I’m not new to the experience! She was nice and straight forward a little more expensive than I’m used to but hey I looked in the mirror and was happy with my braids so a win is a win! Started about 10am took a 40 minute break kind of and was done about 5ish

I called and asked how much for the knotless braids I wanted, and was quoted a different price than the picture of how I wanted my braids done (small knotless), which I showed my braider. She said okay and preceded to give me large parts with small braids. I showed her the reference picture again and she apologized and said she’d braid them like the picture. She continued to braid large parts, this time with larger braids. I told her I didn’t have time for her to start over so for the other half (top) of my head could she do small parts and small braids like the picture I kept showing her. She finally agrees. At the end I still paid $200 for the price of small knotless braids, as if I don’t have 3 different size braids in my head. The lady was loud and argued about how she was not going to

I will be honest. This shop does good work. However, my low rating is due to the huge inconsistencies and unprofessionalism. Please confirm and reconfirm with the owner the price and what it specifically covers. I was charged one amount the first time I visited this shop. I got the same exact service and was quoted an additional $20 this time. Now, that wouldn't have been a problem if I was notified of the change prior to my hair being completely done when I was notified. Plus, my appointment was scheduled at 830a and the shop owner did not even arrive to their shop until 913a. So, you were late AND expected me to pay more! 🤬 Highly upset. I got my hair done and week ago. The braids look great! The issue I had with Lola is 1st she gave me a price when I texted her the picture. On the day of my appointment she changed the price! Secondly, in the middle of doing my hair she asked for her payment. I asked her did she have to leave and she said no. 30 minutes later she left to pick up her kids . I don't like for people to stop in the middle of doing my hair. Thats unprofessional. Your kids getting picked up has nothing to do with me. If I would have known that I wouldn't have paid her until the service was completed. Once I complained to the other braider about Lola leaving when she got back she stated that I owed her $10 more dollars.
