I was terrified of cutting my curly hair short, I have had long hair almost all my life and when I showed Mona the picture of what I was thinking, she smiled and told me she loved it. I have been going to Lofty Salon for about 15 years and I trust Mona completely. I got it cut and I LOVE it, thank you Mona for encouraging me to go ahead and do it. Like you said, I was a prisoner of my curly hair and I feel so good and liberated!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Lofty Salon. From the moment I walked in, the experience felt thoughtful and elevated. Mona took the time during my consultation to truly understand my hair goals, texture, and lifestyle — she didn’t rush a single detail. I felt heard, which is rare. During the cut, she shaped everything so intentionally around my preferences and my hair type. The result feels effortless, flattering, and completely aligned with what I envisioned (honestly, better). Her precision, eye for balance, and ability to customize the cut to me made all the difference. If you’re looking for someone who combines artistry with genuine care, Mona is exceptional. Highly, highly recommend.

I don’t leave reviews often, but I was very disappointed with the experience here. I sought out this salon, because I knew Mona specialized in curly hair. I went in excited and hoping Mona would be able to give me a cut that would work for my curly hair When I arrived, I was quickly addressed and was asked to sit in a chair. I don’t believe there was a single hello or even asked what my name was. Mona then came over and we discussed what my goals were for my hair, I told her that I was looking for a cut that would enhance my curls but still be able to style it straight or with a round brush on occasion. She then very quickly started cutting a good amount of hair off. It all seemed very haphazard and she ripped through my hair with a comb. (I’m not a tender headed person but I was close

The cut was extremely quick and I walked out with hair that looks way more healthier than I went in with. However, if I go back I will probably make an appointment with Taylor or Carmen instead. I picked "any stylist" when booking online, and was scheduled with Mona. I went in with hair to my waist. Mona asked if she could cut it to the top of my shoulders (first she asked if I needed it to remain long enough to be able to be pulled back). I said do not cut it that short. Gave her my clear reasons for wanting it at mid-back, at my shoulder blades. That's a good 6 inches off my ends. Took off my glasses-- I'm blind as a bat--and let her do her thing. She starts by dry cutting, which I love. Then washing, then touching up wet. Walked out with hair sitting barely past my shoulders. Not sure

I had high hopes for this curly specialist, but knowledge for different types of curly hair was extremely lacking. Mona was curt and a bit arrogant. She cut my hair so quickly that there was no time to even stop her from cutting layers or texturizing my curls. It is *significantly shorter than we discussed and my curls are struggling. I have been to a true curly hair specialist and had the best hair cut of my life. This was an overpriced haircut lacking the knowledge to actually give a good curly cut. To top it off, I commented on how fast the haircut was and got a short response of “when you know what you’re doing, it doesn’t need to take long.” Unfortunately, the haircut proves otherwise.
