Leisure Nails-Newton

Do not go here unless you want your nails to fall apart after 3 days. My gel+chrome powder appointment was 2/6 (Fri), these phots are from 2/9 (Mon). The bottom section of ALL my nails are lifting, showing how carelessly they were done. They did offer complimentary repair limited to 9 days. They said I will be charged when I asked for a different weekend since I do not live in the area. Guess I would have to inconvenience myself (the uber back and forth is more than what I paid for the nails) AND pay for their horrible work. Adding that I initially asked for a refund since 1) nobody should be getting paid for this work 2) even if I redo my nails, I’d have to redo every single one. 1/21/26 response to owner: I don’t have any email or text confirmations, because my first appointment was a walk in at the Watertown location, and my second appointment was scheduled over the phone since as I said, the online booking site wasn’t working. This was my first time at the Newton location since I wanted to avoid having to find parking in that area. The receptionist at Newton verified that my phone number is different than the one you have on file, so you might have gotten me mixed up with someone else. Nonetheless, I was pressured to go along with a pedicure and gel manicure, neither of which I wanted, and I had to turn them down multiple times while the receptionist got increasingly angry that I wasn’t falling for their pricing scam. I have been consistently coming here for the past year and always received amazing, top quality service from Lee. The atmosphere is always good and they have great entertainment with a good HGTV episode on the TV's. I look forward to returning every month for my monthly gel manicure and pedicure.

I’ve been coming to this salon for quite some time and have even brought several friends who became regular clients, so this is disappointing to write. At my most recent visit, the front desk staff and manager were, as they have been in my experience, not welcoming and came across as unfriendly and dismissive. There’s never really been an effort to create a warm or inviting environment, which sets the tone the moment you walk in. I will say, though, that Kevin has always been the nicest and most pleasant person there. I went in with what I know to be regular gel and very strong, healthy natural nails, yet the manicurist insisted it was something else. i’ve been there 2 times now and both times i’ve had to go back and get my nails fixed after 1 or 2 days. this time when i went to get my nail fixed it looks out of place compared to my other nails and just doesn’t look good period.
