I’ve been going to Payton for my regular cut/color for a while now and happily followed her to Lavish! Aside from being the absolute sweetest, Payton just gets it when it comes to my hair. She always nails my color and cuts. And let’s be honest… I can be a little indecisive when I want to try something new, but she’s always willing to give her honest opinion (which I fully appreciate). For almost a year I flirted with the idea of getting bangs — mind you, I hadn’t had bangs in over 20 years. It felt dramatic. Risky. Life-altering. 😂 Instead of letting me panic-chop, Payton suggested starting with subtle curtain bangs and trimming more as I adjusted. Fast forward… I now have full bangs and I LOVE them. The salon itself was fine. I’m not a huge believer in a salon name because you can get all kinds at any salon. The bigger question with any salon is your stylist.. and Payton is the best! I found her 1.5 years ago after a fiasco whirlwind of stylists that just didn’t get it. I truly love and look forward to my chair time with her. She listens and asks questions to make sure she really gets what you’re going for. She isn’t afraid to try something different and she explains the process along the way. She’s not pushy about products, but explains why she uses what she does. My favorite thing though, is her ability to match energy. I’ve come in utterly beat down and she’s been a comforting but quiet presence. I’ve come in hyper and chatty and we’ve gabbed and giggled the entire time. I walk out
