La Casita Tropical

I came here, as it was recommended by one of my friends, and I'm so glad I came. There was a long line but it went by fairly quickly. What I liked the best about my experience here is that the staff lets you try whatever you want. I tried chicharrón and arroz chaufa and they were both delicious. They also have a special when you buy 4 lbs of chicharrones, they give you 1 one free. I purchased 5 lbs of chicharrones, yuca with arroz chaufa and everything was delicious. I'm very picky with chicarrón and yuca and both were the best I've had. I did want to try el arroz con gandules but it sold out. I also tried their ceviche, which was good, but I usually prefer the more acidic ceviche. Their chile with carrots and onions was very tasty as well. La Casita Tropical is a legit Cuban food spot. The lechón is juicy and perfectly seasoned, the ropa vieja is rich and tender, and the rice and beans actually slap (not an afterthought). Portions are generous, flavors are bold, and everything tastes like it came out of someone’s abuela’s kitchen. No frills, no gimmicks — just real Cuban food done right. This place delivers.

Good music. Not too loud, it was enjoyable. Plenty of options to choose from. In my opinion the chicharron is the best I’ve ever tasted in Miami. It was hot and crunchy. Usually when it’s hot and steaming in the to go tray, it looses its crunch but this one stayed crispy. I also had the cow foot soup. Flavorful soup. The service was great. Will come again to try different options.

Well, if you’re looking for a place where you’ll be well taken care of, with a cheerful atmosphere and amazing food, don’t hesitate to try La Casita Tropical. The chicharrón is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the stewed beef tastes just like my grandma used to make, and the plantains are perfectly ripe! The owner truly connects with his customers, and the vibe of the place is incredible. Don’t worry about labels — this is where you come to eat like you’re at home. 10/10!

Amazing! The food is incredible, the service is fast and friendly, the vibe is fun. The chicharrones have pork meat and are the best I've had. The restaurant also offers delicious, unique and flavorful foods like oxtail, goat stew, pig ears and feet (my favorite). Honestly, can't wait to go back. When in line, they gave you free samples and explained all the dishes and the service was so fast. Great find for authentic food.
