La Bella Spa and Salon

I recently moved to the area from New York City. It has been several months since I had my monthly pedicure. Decided to give them a try, even though the reviews were not so great. Let me start by saying I’m giving it two stars because Tina, the nail technician, was phenomenal. I would follow her anywhere. Just not here!! I did tip her over 20% because she did a great job. Upon entering at 5:30 PM on a weekday, I noticed the salon was not very busy. The technicians that were there we’re just sitting and not cleaning or doing anything. And certainly the chairs and the entire area could use a deep clean. But that’s probably not their job. A plastic bag was put into the water basin, which placed me until I started feeling water swishing around, and I realized that it was secured and punctured

La Bella Salon is where I have been getting nails done with my friends as they have a lot of chairs, so they can always accommodate us. I like how friendly staff here are. They don’t do unnecessary chit chat, and always let me get the services done peacefully. The technicians are skillful and the services are fast but great. I don’t necessarily care if the staff speak good English. I usually tell them I want gel manicure, choose the colors, and let them know which color for which finger, and then I get the results I want.

No good, didn’t even paint the entire nail for a regular gel manicure. A lot of nails were unevenly painted and she didn’t file evenly - I had to use a file after I left.

DO NOT GO HERE. My mom went to remove her gel nails that she got from another salon and get a quick gel nail at the salon. They used the gel nail removing tool so hard that she cannot even wash her hair using her nails. We have been getting gel nails from different salons for the past 10 years and this is the worst experience. Her nails are so painful right now that when it touches something, she screams this place, basically shaved off her nails and not just the gel. DO NOT GO. Terrible skills. Would never go here again.

It was my 1st time coming here. I was super excited to come, especially because it was right across the street from where I lived, and since moving from SD, I was looking forward to finding a good tech. And thought, hey, it's Foster City, so it should be fine to do my nails without concerns. I called 2 days in advance, spoke to the guy on the phone, and let him know i was setting an appointment for a manicure and pedicure, and nail removal, too. I wanted to experience the whole package. And this is why I called to make sure they were not gonna be rushing. I came in, and the tech lady told me no gel, i was trying to tell her this time i wanted gel nails, not acrylic!
